Greetings!

Yes, it’s been forever. Now that we’ve acknowledged that, let’s move on 🙂 If you don’t know, my daily style is pretty much a wash and go. I wear them 99.9% of the time. I haven’t mastered the art of a lasting twist-out yet, so wash and go’s are just easy for me. ANYWAY. I was pretty much re-doing my hair every morning because after sleeping on it, it was of course, a little matted and just not poppin. I’ve tried pineapples and banding, etc. to preserve curls, but my hair was just not having it.

SO. I’ve been on the hunt for a hair gel that holds my hair without a disgusting crunch. I got 2 gels to try out a while ago, and here are my thoughts on the Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker gel and Shea Moisture’s Curling Souffle.

Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker: AWESOME softness and shine! However, the hold was not as long-lasting as I was looking for. Now, the label does say that it provides a softer hold, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. But I love how soft and sleek my hair felt when I used this!

Shea Moisture Curling Souffle: I have to say my hair felt horrible when I used this gel. It felt gunky, rough, and just disgusting. But, it looked AMAZING lol. It was shiny and my curls were POPPIN. I personally hate when my hair feels disgusting, but it looked so good, I dealt with it! My wash and go lasted the FULL week, from Monday to Sunday when it was time to wash it. In the mornings, I just spritzed my hair with a little water, fluffed it out, and that was IT!

Moral of the story: I love BOTH gels for different reasons! If I want a super low maintenance style for the week, I’ll go with the Shea Moisture, but if I need my hair to be soft and touchable, I’ll use the Camille Rose. Have you ever used either gel? How do you like them?

Thanks for reading!

Hey Curlfriends!

I’m still trying out deep conditioners, and recently bought this Camille Rose Blue Algae Deep Conditioner. I know what you’re thinking…”Blue Algae?!???” I had the same thought lol. But in reading up about it, blue algae is a great source of protein..and y’all know my hair LOVES protein..so I thought I’d give this a go.

Ingredients: Distilled water, blue green algae, honey, aloe vera juice, coconut oil, mango seed butter, shea butter, hemp, grapeseed, glycerin, green tea, panthenol, rose hip, jojoba oil, evening primrose oil, peppermint oil, msm, biotin, vit. e and LOVE!

I washed my hair and applied this to my hair. I actually left it in all weekend for 2 nights and washed it out Monday morning for my wash and go. Listen…my hair was so SOUPED up!! It was juicy and super moisturized! This Camille Rose is a keeper for me! It’s a very thick consistency and has a pleasant scent. Overall, I loved it! Can’t think of anything negative to say about it.

I haven’t seen this line on the ground anywhere, so I ordered mine from CurlMart.com. Next, I may try this Jessicurl DC I keep reading about. Hmmm..

Til next time!
XOXO
