I had to write to GUSH over this AMAZING deep conditioner! I discovered it via one of my favorite hair vloggers, Melshary. It’s the LACE Natural Brahmi Root Hair Masque. I wish I had the words to fully express to you the amazing-ness of this deep conditioner. AH! It literally melts into my hair and INSTANTLY┬ásoftens my hair. It has great slip and makes detangling a BREEZE. It also has a nice soft scent, that’s not too over-powering. It’s just awesome and I need to not EVER be without this stuff!

I also LOVE that it has all natural ingredients because I like to leave my deep conditioners in my hair. Yes, you read that correctly; I don’t rinse them out! My hair feels great after leaving this in! Have you ever tried this DC? What do you think? Isn’t it AMAZING?!

Thanks for reading!

Greetings, Curlies!

As the title says, I recently did some experimenting with my deep conditioning regimen. I’ve noticed over the past few months that whenever I rinse any product out of my hair, my hair tends to dry OUT–meaning, whenever I rinse out products, as the water is drying out of my hair, it really depletes the moisture from my hair. So, even if I’m rinsing out a deep conditioner, my hair still feels dry after rinsing it out because as my hair dries, it’s taking out the moisture that the deep conditioner helped to restore. My assumption is that this has something to do with my hair being very high porosity.

SO–my solution: leaving in my deep conditioner! So far, this has worked very well for me, especially since I use all-natural deep conditioners anyway. Because of that, I don’t really have to worry about leaving “bad” ingredients in my hair. Last week, I DC’d with Pura Body Naturals Chocolate Hair Smoothie and sealed with coconut oil. I put on a plastic cap and let it marinate in my hair overnight. The next morning, my hair was nice and juicy (lol), and I just styled my hair as usual. Usually, my hair feels pretty dry the first 2 days after a wash. BUT after doing this, I had SOFT first day hair! My hair felt so good.

So, this is probably how I will be deep conditioning my hair from now on–DC’ing overnight, sealing with an oil, and leaving it in. I noticed my curls were SO much smoother, shinier and more defined after using this method. I also noticed a lot less shedding, which I’m all about. If you think you have high porosity hair and notice your hair being dry after rinsing out your deep conditioner, give this a try, it may work for you too! (I would suggest using an all-natural conditioner.) Thanks for reading & Have a great week! čÖé

Til Next Time,

Happy New Year, Curlfriends!

As you can see from the title, I recently tried Pura Body Naturals Chocolate Hair Smoothie deep conditioner on my hair. They were having a buy one get one FREE sale, so I got a bunch. I’d heard good things about it, and the ingredients looked great, so I was hoping I would like it lol.

Thankfully, I did! The slip is GREAT, the smell is YUMMY, and it conditions very well. It smells and looks JUST like a chocolate milkshake. Even the consistency is kind of like a shake–kinda thick but not too thick. I also tried it on my sister’s hair and her hair loved it too. So, score all around! I’ll list the ingredients below. If you’re looking for a good deep conditioner, I encourage you to give this a try. I’ll also post a picture of my wash and go the day I rinsed this product out of my hair. Curl poppage GALORE!

Hey Curlfriends!

I’m still trying out deep conditioners, and recently bought this Camille Rose Blue Algae Deep Conditioner. I know what you’re thinking…”Blue Algae?!???” I had the same thought lol. But in reading up about it, blue algae is a great source of protein..and y’all know my hair LOVES I thought I’d give this a go.

Ingredients: Distilled water, blue green algae, honey, aloe vera juice, coconut oil, mango seed butter, shea butter, hemp, grapeseed, glycerin, green tea, panthenol, rose hip, jojoba oil, evening primrose oil, peppermint oil, msm, biotin, vit. e and LOVE!

I washed my hair and applied this to my hair. I actually left it in all weekend for 2 nights and washed it out Monday morning for my wash and go. Listen…my hair was so SOUPED up!! It was juicy and super moisturized! This Camille Rose is a keeper for me! It’s a very thick consistency and has a pleasant scent. Overall, I loved it! Can’t think of anything negative to say about it.

I haven’t seen this line on the ground anywhere, so I ordered mine from Next, I may try this Jessicurl DC I keep reading about. Hmmm..

Hey Curlfriends!

Hope you’re all doing well čÖé Just wanted to do a quick review of this As I Am Hydration Elation Deep Conditioner. This product has the perfect name! Lol it’s TRULY hydrating which just makes me and my hair SO happy. I’ve been looking for a good deep conditioner for a WHILE…months. I’d been unsuccessful, but THIS STUFF…..AMAZING! You know how sometimes you have to work a product through your hair before you feel the effects of it and can really detangle with it? Not the case with this. The INSTANT that I put it on my hair, my hair melted, the knots dissipated, my hair strands separated and softened..instantly! Detangling was a BREEZE. This stuff is insane. I’ll definitely be re-purchasing. I don’t know what ingredient in this stuff my hair loves, but I have got to figure it out. Maybe it’s just an awesome combination of ingredients, which it is. There are no sulfates, parabens, or silicones. I’ll list the ingredients below. But yeah…Hydration Elation is absolutely a winner for me. If you’re looking for a staple DC (deep conditioner), I would recommend giving this a try! I’m thinking about trying it as a leave-in as well…hmmm.. čśë

Hey Curlies!

So, this is another product I got on my Curlmart Haul. I’m STILL in desperate need of a good deep conditioner (DC). This product has great reviews online, so I decided to give it a shot.

I washed my hair as normal and applied the product in smell sections, twisting up my hair once I was done applying the conditioner to each section. I used a generous amount for each section. It went on okay–not a lot of slip, but it was okay because I didn’t need to detangle. I got the “Strawberry Ice Cream” scent, but I don’t really like the smell, doesn’t really smell like strawberries to me. I let it sit overnight, like I usually do when I DC. I also applied some of my oil mixture of Sweet Almond oil with 2 drops each of Rosemary & Peppermint essential oils. The next morning, I rinsed it out. I’ve done this about 4 times with the Curl Rehab, and I pretty much get the same results each time.

It’s an okay deep conditioning treatment. Not bad, but not amazing. I probably wouldn’t buy it again, just because it’s a little expensive ($20) for a product I don’t LOVE. It was just *eh*. ┬áSO I’m still on the hunt for the perfect DC. My hair is so particular, it’s ridiculous! I need something super rich and ultra moisturizing. My hair loves protein and rich moisture. One day I’ll find a great DC. Until then, I’ll finish using up this Curl Rehab.

One thing I’ve realized about conditioners since I’ve been natural: the directions are only suggestions! In my experience, using a conditioner differently than is directed on the bottle can be a great thing to try. For example, Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner doesn’t work for me as a rinse out–it makes my hair feel dry. But as a leave-in, it’s awesome!

If you have a rinse-out that dries your hair out after rinsing, try it as a leave-in. If you have a “deep conditioner” that doesn’t quite give you that DEEP conditioning you’re looking for, you can try that as a leave-in as well. I’ve even used my deep conditioning mixture as a leave in just because my hair loves it so much. I have one conditioner that just didn’t work for me as a leave-in, rinse out, deep–NOTHING. So, I added it to a spray bottle with water and glycerin, which made a GREAT refresher spray for my wash-and-go’s.┬á

I’m not saying EVERY deep and leave-in conditioner can alternatively be used as a leave-in. However, you will never know until you try. Play around with your conditioners! You may make some great discoveries like I did. čÖé
